Serena Carter (1989-93) led Midwestern State to its first NAIA National Tournament appearance when she averaged 19.9 points and 8.6 rebounds a game as the Lady Indians rolled to a 22-8 record during her senior season of 1992-93. Carter garnered NAIA first-team All-America status for her efforts and was the the NAIA District 8 Player of the Year. She left MSU as the school's second all-time leading scorer (1,686 points) and rebounder (939).
