April Lasater (1996-98) played a key role in leading the upstart Midwestern State program to a pair of Lone Star Conference championships and another regular season title within the first four seasons of its inception.

The Abiliene (Texas) High product set the standard at MSU with 43 goals and 19 assists and was a three-time All-Lone Star Conference first-team selection.

Lasater operated at the same high level in the classroom as she was named a second-team GTE Academic All American in the spring of 1999.
