Kristen Stonecipher was a very tough out in the middle of the Midwestern State batting order from 2005-08.

So tough that she was the most difficult player to strike out in all of NCAA Division II during her junior campaign when struck out just once in 190 at bats.

The feat was merely one highlight for the 5-9 third baseman from Flower Mound, who graduated as the program leader in batting average, on-base percentage, hits, run scored and runs batted in.

Stonecipher played a major role in leading the Mustangs to their only two Lone Star Conference championships in program history and to four berths in the NCAA Division II playoffs.

Stonecipher was the first position player to earn All-America honors claiming third-team honors on the Louisville Slugger/National Fast-pitch Coaches' Association following a stellar sophomore campaign in 2006.

She hit a career-best .391 with 16 doubles, nine home runs and 42 RBIs leading MSU to its first Lone Star Conference championship with a 44-15 record finishing the season in the NCAA Division II South Central Regionals.

Stonecipher displayed excellence on a consistent basis during her four campaigns with the Mustangs. She was a first-team NFCA All-South Central Region selection in all four seasons, while also gaining All-LSC North Division on four occasions.

Stonecipher guided Midwestern State to a second consecutive league title hitting .389 with 13 doubles, eight homers, 50 RBIs and 10 stolen bases as a junior in 2007. That season, she was the toughest strikeout in all of NCAA Division II fanning one time in her 190 at bats.

She closed out her senior campaign in 2008 with another stellar line hitting .355 with nine doubles, seven homers and 48 RBIs while sealing a career best 16 stolen bases.

Stonecipher drove in her 172nd run on her final collegiate at bat in the South Central Regional against Abilene Christian to become the Lone Star Conference's all-time leader in RBIs.

She finished her career with 46 doubles and 26 homers while hitting .367 with an on-base percentage of .427 logging multiple hits in 80 games.
