Jennifer Butler-Lewis began a 13-year association with Midwestern State when she arrived on campus in 1994.

Butler-Lewis enjoyed a solid playing career from 1994-99, helping the Lady Indians to an NAIA National Tournament appearance in 1995 and to the NAIA Southwest Region finals in 1997.

She started in 102 of 103 games at point and rates second on the program’s all-time assists list with 395. Butler-Lewis averaged 7.9 points, four rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.6 steals a game during her career.

She became a full-time assistant coach after serving as a graduate assistant for one season under Shannon Burks.

The duo immediately led Midwestern to its first Lone Star Conference championship and their first appearance in the NCAA Division II South Central Regional in 2001.

After an LSC runner-up performance in 2002, the Lady Indians returned to the NCAA postseason in 2003.
