Russ Grissom (1989-91) was the cornerstone of a defense that helped Midwestern State to its first postseason appearance of the modern era.

The defensive end from Breckenridge notched 93 tackles and matched his MSU single season standard with 16 sackes while helping the Indians to an NAIA Division II national quarterfinal showing during his senior season of 1991.

Grissom, who also had 16 sacks in 1990, graduated as the program leader with 32 quarterback sacks.
