ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Midwestern State Track & Field complied 37 points in team scoring at the 2026 Lone Star Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday afternoon at the Albuquerque Convention Center. On the final day of competition, the Mustangs scored in six events, with one podium finish, and one personal record.

Kennedy Johnson snagged silver in the triple jump, with her first leap of 11.88m (38' 11.75"). Johnson finished behind West Texas A&M's Leidy Cuesta (11.99m, 39' 4"). Johnson also raced in the final of the 200 meters, taking eighth with a time of 25.48.

Maggie Neal and
Jadyn Dangerfield just missed out on the podium in the 800 meters, placing 4
th and 5
th, respectively. Neal raced to a 2:11.50, improving her time from the preliminary round.
Jadyn Dangerfield also improved their mark from the prelims, setting a new personal record in the event (2:11.73). The Mustangs 4x400 relay team took home 7
th (3:49.39), with the team of
Kennedy DeHorney,
Maggie Neal,
Jadyn Dangerfield, and
Jessie Heath setting a provisional mark.

Ella Pando scored points in the 3,000 meters, finishing the event in 5
th (18:25.51).
Perla Flores (10
th, 19:18.26) and
Isabel Hernandez (18
th, 11:07.18).Â
Jessie Heath raced in the final of the 400 meters, taking 8
th place with a provisional mark in the event (55.37). During the mile,
Grace Pineda (10
th, 5:18.27),
Jazira Perez (12
th, 5:27.51), and
Isabel Hernandez (15
th, 5:32.40).
Diana Kelley competed in the high jump, finishing in 12
th with a mark of 1.50m (4' 11").
Midwestern State now waits for the selections of the field at the 2026 NCAA DII Indoor Track & Field Championships, hosted in Virginia Beach, Virginia from Mar. 13-14. Selections of the competitors from around the nation will be made on Tuesday, Mar. 3.
