Kennedy Johnson will represent Midwestern State Track & Field at the 2026 NCAA DII Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Emporia, Kansas on Friday afternoon. The sophomore will compete in the triple jump, with a scheduled start time of 4:45 p.m.

Johnson will compete in the first flight of the triple jump, after finishing 14
th in the nation in the event. The Euless, Texas native earned their personal best this season at the 2026 Joe Gillespie Invitational (12.39m, 40' 7'75"). Recently, the sophomore finished second in the triple jump at the 2026 Lone Star Conference Outdoor T&F Championships, with a mark of 12.23m (40' 1.5"). Johnson is hitting their stride, jumping to three of her top-4 marks of the season at the LSC Championships (2
nd- 12.23m, 3
rd- 12.22m, and 4
th-12.18m).
All 22 competitors have been broken up into two flights (11 in the first flight, 11 in the second flight), with each competitor getting three attempts to set a mark. The top nine competitors will move on to have three more attempts to increase their marks. The top eight individuals will earn First Team All-American honors from the United States Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), while individuals finishing between 9
th and 16
th place will earn Second Team All-American honors.
