Williams Breaks 100 meter hurdles record as Mustangs take 5th at David Noble Relays

SAN ANGELO, Texas – Shalisa Williams broke her own school record in the 100 meter hurdles during the Midwestern State Track & Fields competition at the David Noble Relays. The broken school record highlighted 14 personal records during the two-day meet hosted by Angelo State. MSU took 5th place in the meet of the 12 programs competing, finishing with 77 points. Angelo State took home first place, scoring 213.5 points to win their home meet.

Williams initially broke the record in the prelims, racing to a sub-15 mark for the first time in program history (14.96). However, the junior was quicker in the event final, finishing in 6th place with a time of 14.80. Williams re-wrote her own record in the event (15.26, previous record), which she set in 2025. The hurdler also improved their personal best in the 400-meter hurdles, posting a 1:10.54 time in the event.

Kennedy Johnson posted a win triple jump, recording a leap of 11.75m (38' 6.75") on their first attempt. The sophomore also had a strong performance on the track, advancing to the finals of the 100-meter dash and 200-meter dash. Johnson clocked a 12.24 in the final of the 100 meters, taking sixth, while posting an outdoor personal best in the 200-meter prelims (25.09) moving into 8th for MSU all-time outdoor performance list.

The Mustangs claimed victories in the 5K and 10K, with Ella Pando winning the 5K (17:43.57), and Isabel Hernandez winning the 10K (38:43.66). Hernandez recorded her first mark in the event of her career, while Perla Flores (38:44.80, 2nd) and Sydney Carian (40:34.30, 5th) had personal bests in the event.

Jessie Heath and Jadyn Dangerfield each had two personal bests during the 200 meters and 400 meters. Heath and Dangerfield both reached the finals of the 400 meters, as Heath recorded an outdoor personal best in the final to take fifth (56.15), while Dangerfield finished in 6th (57.21).
