WICHITA FALLS, Texas – Midwestern State extended its winning streak to eight games with a 2-0 win over Texas A&M International and a 1-0 victory at UT Dallas last week. Bella Rose, who has been instrumental in the early-season success of the Mustangs, was named the LSC Defensive Player of the Week.

Rose is a centerpiece for a defense that has not conceded a goal on its way to an 8-0-0 record to start the season. The sophomore from Wichita Falls scored her first goal of the season — and the third of her collegiate career — as MSU extended its home unbeaten streak to 25 games with a 2-0 victory over the Dustdevils on Wednesday night. 

Rose and the Stangs limited UTD to a season-low seven shots with just one shot on goal in the 1-0 triumph on Saturday night. Midwestern State has not allowed an opponent to take more than five shots on goal in its last 27 games.

Midwestern State looks to extend its road winning streak to six games as it visits Lubbock Christian on Wednesday night. Kickoff at LCU Soccer & Track Facility is scheduled for 7 p.m. The Mustangs are back home on Saturday night to renew their rivalry with Texas Woman's. Kickoff at Stang Park is slated for 7 p.m.
