LUBBOCK, Texas – Midwestern State Track & Field concludes regular season at Corky Crofoot Shootout and Texas Invitational. The Mustangs will race at Texas Tech for the Corky Crofoot Shootout on Thursday, Apr. 30, while traveling to University of Texas for the Texas Invitational on Friday, May 1.
Last weekend, Midwestern State had several standout performances, including a new school record, three provisional marks, and over a dozen personal records at the OU Alumni O Ring Open.
Ella Pando beat her own school record in the 5,000 meters by just half of a second, while
Jessie Heath,
Jadyn Dangerfield, and
Maggie Neal all set PRs in the 800 meters, each hitting a DII provisional mark.

The Mustangs will be competing in a condensed meet at Texas Tech, with the Corky Crofoot Shootout happening in one day. Midwestern State will compete in 12 events, with competition from all over the region traveling to Lubbock. Lone Star Conference opponents West Texas A&M and Lubbock Christian will be in attendance, while high level junior college programs New Mexico Junior College and Odessa College will be in the Hub City.

Maggie Neal to the Texas Invitational on Friday afternoon as they look to increase their times in the 800 meters. The three runners each set personal records last week, each hitting a provisional mark, and stand in the top-50 in Division II. The three Mustangs will look to lower their times against several UT student-athletes, with all three placed in the fastest heat.

Midwestern State head to Canyon, Texas for the conference championships next weekend, with the three-day event beginning May 7 and wrapping up May 9.
