WICHITA FALLS, Texas – Midwestern State Track & Field will split up in south Texas, sending teams to compete in the 98
th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays in Austin, Texas (Thur., Apr. 2-Sat., Apr. 4), and the Bobcat Invitational in San Marcos, Texas (Thur., Apr. 2-Sat., Apr. 4).
In its last meet, the Mustangs took 5
th place at the David Noble Relays, hosted by Angelo State in San Angelo, Texas. Shalisa William broke a school record in the 100 meter-hurdles, racing to a 14.80 mark in the event final. Midwestern State also had 14 personal records at the two day meet, with
Kennedy Johnson (triple jump),
Ella Pando (5,000m), and
Isabel Hernandez (10,000m) winning their events.
The Mustangs will have competitors at both meets this weekend. At the Texas Relays,
Jessie Heath (400 meter hurdles),
Jadyn Dangerfield (800 meters),
Maggie Neal (800 meters), and
Ella Pando (10,000 meters) will compete in individual events, along with three relay teams (4x400m, 1600 SMR), and 4x800m). At the Bobcat Invitational,
Kennedy DeHorney and
Kennedy Johnson will race in the 100m and 200m, with
Karissa Nixon running in the 100-meter dash.
Grace Pineda will race in the 1500 meters Friday evening to conclude action in San Marcos.
