ABILENE, Texas – Midwestern State Track & Field heads to Angelo State for the second week of competition of the outdoor track & field season. The Mustangs will race in the David Noble Relays, competing Friday, Mar. 27 through Saturday, Mar. 28.
MSU posted 17 personal records to begin the season at the Wes Kittley Invitational.
Kennedy Johnson impressed with the second fastest time in program history for the 100 meters (12.00), a personal record.
Jessie Heath ran a provisional mark in the 800 meters, with the career best time (2:11.21) moving into second in the MSU outdoor all-time performance list. Meanwhile,
Jadyn Dangerfield, set personal records in both the 800 meters (2:11.52) and 1500 meters (4:43.82).

This weekend at the David Noble Relays, 11 teams and unattached athletes will compete, with men's decathlon and women's heptathlon beginning on Thursday and concluding Friday. Track events and field events will commence on Friday afternoon. Six Lone Star Conference teams will take part in the meet: Angelo State, DBU, Midwestern State, Texas A&M-Kingsville, UT Dallas, and UT Tyler, along with Division I program Abilene Christian.

Friday night will feature the steeplechase and 10,000 meters, with six Mustangs racing in the 10k.
Perla Flores,
Rosalene Reyes Perez, and
Perla Flores have the top three seed times in the event. Pando will also compete in the 5,000 meters the following day, joined by
Grace Pineda and
Jazira Perez. Johnson will take part in the triple jump on Friday evening, before a full slate of events on Saturday.

Midwestern State will have several competitors in the sprints and middle distance events on Saturday afternoon, with eight competitors in the 400 meters. Four Mustangs will race in the 100 meters, and eight will compete in the 200 meters.

Shalisa Williams will race in both the 100-meter hurdles and 400 meter hurdles, while Heath and
Abby Cavender will race in the 400mh. For field events,
Diana Kelley (high jump) and Cavender (long jump) will compete for MSU on Saturday.
