AMARILLO, Texas — Midwestern State women's golf team is in second-place through two rounds at the WT Fall Invitational, as Alli Reily tied for second with a 3-under-par 139 after 36 holes.

Midwestern State trails West Texas A&M by just one stroke with a score of 572. The team showed consistency with a first-round score of 2-under 282 and shot six-over of 290 in the second round.

"The first round was very solid. I thought we might have been a little tired in the second round. It was our first 36-hole day of the season," head coach Jeff Ray said.

Reily led the team with a standout performance on Day 1. She is in a four-way tie for second place individually with a total of 3-under 139, shooting 68 in the first round and an even-par 71 in the second. Reily carded five birdies during her first round.

Tova Sandren of New Mexico Junior College is atop the leader board at 5-under 137.

Kodi Nolen also contributed significantly and is in sixth place with a 2-under140, after rounds of 69 and 71. In the second round, Nolen carded an eagle on the par-5, 11th hole, and she finished with four birdies.

"Kodi and Allie played solid all day," Ray said.

Romane Lacoste carded eight birdies, including twice at the par-5, 8th hole and twice at the par-4, 14th hole, and finished 36 holes at 6-over 148, tied for 28th place.

Madison Wert finished with five birdies and tied for 30th at 7-over 149.

Mary Kerr improved in her second round, shooting an even-par 72 after firing a 5-over 77 in the first round, also finishing tied for 30th.

"We play this course well, and we're comfortable here," Ray said. "It's always exciting to be part of the last group on the last day."
 
The Mustangs lifted the NCAA Division II West Region trophy at La Paloma Course in May.

Emme Darnold, competing as an individual, placed 17th at 3-over 145 with rounds of even-par 72 and 1-over 73, emphasizing the depth of talent on the Mustangs roster.
