Midwestern State tees off at Pueblo Country Club in NCAA DII West Regional

PUEBLO, Colo. – Midwestern State is one of 18 teams competing in the NCAA DII West Regional. The 54-hole tournament tees off Monday morning at Pueblo Country Club. Five teams and the top two individuals not with advancing teams will advance to the NCAA Division II Women's Golf Championship at PGA National Resort Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, on May 12.

Midwestern State, which has won two tournament titles this spring, is ranked No. 25 in the nation and is coming off a fifth-place finish at the Lone Star Conference Championship at Rockwall Golf & Athletic Club.

Mary Kerr has finished in the top-10 in four straight tournaments and has been in the top 25 in her last six events, including a victory at the Cardinal Challenge in Beaumont, Texas, where she finished at 6-over 222 and led the Mustangs to their second consecutive tournament title.

Romane Lacoste  was the runner up with a 9-over 225 at the Cardinal Challenge.

Kerr was one of four MSU players to finish among the top six at the Hardscrabble Invitational in  Fort Smith, Arkansas, as the Mustangs finished atop the team leaderboard at 59-over 899. Kerr was the runner up to Ellen Spigner of Arkansas Tech on the player leaderboard at 10-over 220.

Lacoste finished third at Hardscrabble with a 12-over 220. Kodi Nolen finished in fifth place at 18-over 228, and Alli Reily was in a tie for sixth place, finishing at 19-over 229.

Reily finished in third place at the Cardinal Challenge and tied for fifth in a field of 93 players at the Rattler Invitational , where the Mustangs finished third, behind Dallas Baptist and St. Mary's. Reily shot even-par 72 in the final round at Dominion Country Club to finish 7-over 223. Lacoste finished seventh at the Rattler Invitational with an 8-over 224.

Nolen finished just one stroke behind the leaders at the WT Fall Invitational in September, when she opened with a 2-under 69 on the La Paloma Course at Tascosa Golf Club, carding 12 birdies and an eagle through 54 holes.

Madison Wert shot a 3-under 68 in the final round of the 2025 NCAA Division II West Region Championship on the La Paloma Course at Tascosa Golf Club last year as Midwestern State won the regional championship for the first time in program history.

The Mustangs shot a school record low 10-under 274 in the final round, overcoming a 13-stroke deficit before defeating Dallas Baptist in a one-hole playoff to claim the team title at last year's West Region Championship.

Nolen, Kerr, Reily and Wert were all part of the team that reached the national tournament for the first time in program history last year and finished 12th at Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nevada.

Midwestern State played in the NCAA DII West Regional Preview at Pueblo Country Club in October and finished tied for ninth at 74-over 622. Reily finished in a tie for 14th place and shot 10-over 152 in the 36-hole event, which featured a field of 21 teams.

Pueblo Country Club, which opened in 1903, features scenic views of the city as well as mountain ranges and was designed by Henry B. Hughes.  The course features rolling hills with large Cottonwoods, Ponderosa Pines, Blue Spruce and Siberian Elms lining the fairways. Bunkers come into play on all 18 holes.

The weather forecast is calling for cloudy skies with a high of 79 degrees on Monday, but the temperatures drop significantly and the chance of rain is high on Tuesday and Wednesday. Forecasts call for a high of 51 degrees on Tuesday and just 43 degrees on Wednesday. There is a 52 percent chance of rain on Tuesday and nearly a 90 percent chance of rain/snow on Wednesday.
