Women's Golf moves up to No. 17 in national rankings

The Mustangs moved up five places following strong performance at DBU Classic

WICHITA FALLS, Texas -- Midwestern State Woman's Golf has climbed to at No. 17 in the 2025-26 Mizuno/WGCA Coaches Poll announced by the Women's Golf Coaches Association on Friday afternoon.

The Mustangs jump up five places after a strong showing at the DBU Classic, taking third place in a strong 15-team field. Of the 15 competitors, nine were in the national top-25, with three other programs receiving votes. Midwestern State beat out other ranked teams including No. 10 Central Missouri, No. 12 St. Mary's, and No. 16 North Georgia.

Mary Kerr led the team with a two-day 2-under par performance, shooting 3-under par on the final 18 holes. Alli Reily and Romane Lacoste both finished 2-over par on the tournament, while Madison Wert rounded out the team scoring with a 5-over par 36 holes.

Five other teams in the West Super Region join the Mustangs in the top-25, while the Mustangs are one of five teams in the Lone Star Conference (No. 3 DBU, No. 9 Cal. State San Marcos, No. 11 UT Tyler, No. 12 West Texas A&M, and No. 15 St. Mary's).

The Mustangs played their second tournament of the fall on Monday and Tuesday (Sept. 29-30), traveling to Amarillo, Texas to play in the WT Invitational at Tascosa Golf Club – La Paloma Course.
