AMARILLO, Texas — Midwestern State women's golf team secured a second-place finish at the WT Fall Invitational, highlighted by
Kodi Nolen finishing in a tie for third place at 3-under-par 210. The Mustangs finished four strokes behind West Texas A&M at 9-over 861 on the Tascosa Golf Club - La Paloma Course.
Midwestern State led the tournament with 47 birdies and had three eagles through 54 holes.
Nolen had five birdies in the final round and finished the tournament with 12 birdies and an eagle. The senior from Midlothian, Texas, was just one stroke behind the leaders, Sarah Reed of West Texas A&M and Maria Jose Savoca of Cameron. Nolen was tied with Tova Sandren of New Mexico Junior College and Monica Del Valle Pena of West Texas A&M.
Alli Reily finished in sixth place at 2-under 211 and had 10 birdies with one eagle for the Mustangs.
Emme Darnold, competing as an individual in the field, climbed seven places in the final round and finished in a four-way for 10th at 3-over 216. She was tied with Cathy Tong of CSU Monterey Bay, Christine Huse of Angelo State and Ausanee Udkanmtiang of Odessa College.
Madison Wert moved up eight places in the final round by shooting 2-over 73 on Tuesday, and she finished 22nd at 9-over 222.
Mary Kerr was right behind Wert on the leaderboard in 23rd place with a 10-over 223 after shooting 3-over 74 over the final 18 holes.
Romane Lacoste was 31st with a 13-over 226 through three rounds at the 5,807-yard course at Tascosa Golf Club - La Paloma Course.
