WICHITA FALLS, Texas -- Eastern New Mexico had an eight-run surge in the sixth inning of Game 1 and defeated Midwestern State, 9-1, in six innings to start the day at Mustangs Park on Friday.
In the nightcap, Midwestern State rallied from a three-run deficit to force extra innings, but the Greyhounds prevailed in nine innings, 5-3.
Midwestern State is 14-29 for the season and 11-23 against conference opponents. Eastern New Mexico improved to 26-18 with a 19-15 record in the LSC, and the Greyhounds won three of four games with the Mustangs this season.
Midwestern State continues its 10-game homestand on Sunday as Western New Mexico visits Mustangs Park. The doubleheader begins at noon.

The Greyhounds scored twice in the ninth inning as Grace Roffi and Aylene Lucero delivered RBI singles.
