LAREDO, TX -- Syndey Linn, Addison Lindemann and Myranda Jimenez all hit home runs during the doubleheader at Dustdevil Softball Field on Friday, but Texas A&M International swept the twin bill, 5-3 and 11-7.
Midwestern State is 6-17 overall this season with a 3-11 record in the Lone Star Conference. The Mustangs travel to Texas A&M-Kingsville for two games on Sunday. The first game of the doubleheader at Hubert Field is scheduled for noon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Mustangs got on the board immediately, starting their scoring with one run in the top of the first inning. Sydney Linn put Midwestern State on the board with a one-out solo home run off Nevaeh Herrera.
The Mustangs then held the Dustdevils scoreless before expanding their lead in the third inning. Midwestern State scored twice on Addison Lindemann's two-run homer, which brought the Mustangs lead to 3-0. Midwestern State held the Dustdevils off the scoreboard before rallying to grab a 6-5 lead in the fifth. The Mustangs scored three runs, all of them coming on a three-run homer off the bat of Jimenez after Jaycee Yezak and Tatum Waller reached with base hits.
Midwestern State surrendered the lead they built in the fifth, but got back on the scoreboard in the seventh trailing 11-6. The Mustangs scored once on an RBI single off the bat of Ayala, bringing the score to 11-7 in favor of Texas A&M International.
