ORLANDO, Fla. -- Midwestern State is the No. 5 seed in the NCAA Division II Women's Tennis Championships and will play its Round of 16 match against 12th-seeded Queens (N.Y.) on Monday morning at Sanlando Park Tennis Center in Altamonte Springs, Florida. First serve is scheduled for 9 a.m. EDT.
Midwestern State was undefeated in the Lone Star Conference during the regular season and avenged its loss to Dallas Baptist in the semifinals of the LSC Women's Tennis Championship by ousting DBU, 4-1, in the South Central Regional at MSU Tennis Center last week.
MSU makes its ninth appearance in the NCAA Division II Round of 16 and its first since falling to Northwest Missouri State, 4-2, in 2019.
The Mustangs are facing Queens College for the first time in the history of the program.
The Knights are ranked No. 37 in the ITA National Rankings and were the No. 1 seed in the NCAA East Region. Queens advanced to the Round of 16 with a 4-0 victory over Adelphi at the Queens College Indoor Tennis Bubble.
Queens is making its ninth appearance in the Round of 16 but its first since 2019. The Knights are 14-4 this season.
