WICHITA FALLS, Texas – Midwestern State (8-4) is No. 24 among NCAA Division II programs in the latest ITA Collegiate Tennis Rankings. The Mustangs have a four-dual winning streak entering conference play at Texas A&M-Kingsville and Angelo State this week.
Three of the Mustangs four losses have come against No. 2-ranked West Florida, No. 5-ranked West Alabama and No. 12-ranked Washburn.
Midwestern State is 4-0 at home this season after defeating Hawaii Hilo in a dual match last week, 4-1. The Mustangs have only conceded two dual points in their last four outings since suffering a 4-3 setback at Northeastern State on March 12.
The Mustangs are the highest ranked team in the Lone Star Conference. UT Tyler is ranked No. 27 with a 7-5 record, and Angelo State is No. 31 with an 11-0 mark entering conference play this week.
Barry of the Sunshine State Conference is the No. 1-ranked team in the nation with a 10-0 record. West Florida from the Gulf South Conference is No. 2. The top-six teams in the nation come from either the Sunshine State or Gulf South. Embry-Riddle is No. 3 followed by Nova Southeastern, West Alabama and Mississippi College.
Selen Sepken is ranked No. 6 in singles with a 16-2 record, which includes her record during the fall campaign.
Emilia Gyorgy, who is playing No. 2 singles for MSU, is ranked No. 63 with a record of 11-5 during the 2025-26 campaign.
Kristyna Hranacova of Nova Southeastern is the No. 1 singles player in Division II with a 15-3 record.
Sepken and Gyorgy are the No. 8-ranked doubles pairing with a 9-3 record at No. 1 doubles for the Mustangs. Gyorgy and Garcia are ranked No. 8 based on their exploits during the fall campaign, when the duo won seven of eight matches.
Hranacova and Katja Markus of Nova Southeastern are the No. 1 ranked doubles team in NCAA Division II with a 17-2 record, including matches played during the fall.
