TYLER, Texas -- Midwestern State is on the road to face No. 18-ranked UT Tyler at at Louise Herrington Patriot Center on Friday night. Tipoff is scheduled for 5 p.m.
The Mustangs are coming off a 63-45 loss to No. 2-ranked Texas Woman's at Kitty Magee Arena on Wednesday night. Midwestern State fell to 2-6 overall with an 0-2 record in the Lone Star Conference.
The Mustangs are 0-4 on the road to start the season and are 14th in the Lone Star Conference with 56.5 points scored per game. MSU is holding teams to 63.6 points per game.
Zarria Carter notched her sixth double-double of the season in the loss at TWU. Carter finished with 20 points and 15 rebounds. Carter leads the nation among NCAA Division II players with six double-doubles.
Carter also leads the nation with 6.4 offensive rebounds per game. She is the third-leading rebounder in the country with 12.4 boards per game. The 6-1 forward is 20th in the nation and second in the conference with 19.4 points per game.
The senior from Mansfield, Texas, is second in the conference with a field goal percentage of 52.8 (65 of 123). She also leads the league in field goals made and has the second-most attempts.
Carter leads the LSC with 18 steals and is fourrth in the league with 10 blocks.
Midwestern State is second in the LSC and 43rd in the nation with 42.5 rebounds per game, and the Mustangs are second in the nation with 16.3 offensive rebounds per game.
Freshman swingman
Kerbie Cash is the second-leading scorer and second-leading rebounder for the Mustangs. Cash is scoring 9.8 points per game and pulling down 5.6 rebounds per game.

Emillia Steele is scoring 6.5 points per game while grabbing 3.9 rebounds per contest. Freshman

Carisa Cortez, sisters from Lubbock, Texas, have combined for 33 assists through the first eight games. Carisa has 20 assists and is playing 28 minutes per game, while Catalina has 13 assists and is playing 13.3 minutes per game.
Midwestern State is shooting 33.5 percent from the field overall and 19.3 percent from 3-point range.
