started all 28 games in which she appeared… averaged 3.4 points per game… led the team with 79 assists and 2.8 assists per game… finished the season with an assist/turnover ratio of 2.72… scored a season-high 12 points in a 90-62 loss to UT Permian Basin (1/20)… made season-high three 3-pointers in 75-73 win at Angelo State (2/17)… grabbed season-high nine rebounds in 76-74 win at Oklahoma Christian (1/27)… dished out season-high seven assists in 68-56 win over Cameron (12/18)… had season-high six steals in 75-73 win at Angelo State (2/17)… was third on the team with 32 steals and averaged 1.14 steals per game… played a season-high 42 minutes in 68-61 overtime loss to Lubbock Christian (1/6)… averaged 31.6 minutes per game

Freshman (2022-23)
started in six of 24 appearances for head coach Mark Morefield … averaged 4.3 points, 1.5 assists and 1.3 rebounds in 15.3 minutes per game for the Crusaders… shot 35.7 percent from the field (40 of 112) and 30.9 percent from 3-point range… scored a season-high 10 points on 4-of-9 shooting in an 84-67 win over Hardin Simmons (2/18)… dished out a season-high five assists in a 74-63 loss at Trinity (TX) (12/19)… was named to the All-American Southwest Conference Freshman Team

was a three-year letter winner for head coach Kyle Lovorn… was a three-time 4-5A All-District player… was named an All-Region player twice… was an All-State honoree in her senior campaign, when she averaged 7.8 points, 4.6 assists and 2.6 rebounds per game… recorded 41 steals in her senior season… was an HubCityPreps all-city selection… was a UIL state semifinalist… appeared in the TABC All-Star Game… played four seasons of club basketball for Team Lex, which comprised top players from Lubbock, Shallowater and Brownfield… crowned Adidas Gold Gauntlet champs and earned 3SSB status as well as a bid to Alabama

daughter of Robert and Patricia Cortez… her brother is Caleb Cortez… her sister is Carisa Cortez… member of National Honor Society, Student Council, and Spanish Club in high school… enjoys photography… an active member in FCA…wants to attend law school and pursue a career as a lawyer… sister Carisa has committed to Midwestern State and will be an incoming freshman for the 2024-2025 school year
