AMARILLO, Texas -- Midwestern State's Gatlin Goad carded a team-high 12 birdies to record a top-10 individual finish, while leading the Mustangs to fourth as a team Tuesday in the Ryan Palmer Foundation Invitational at the Amarillo Country Club.

The senior from Wheeler, Texas, marked scores of 69, 66, and 69 for a 6-under total of 204 on the way to his top individual finish with the Maroon & Gold. It was second top-10 showing as a Mustang.

Senior Trevor Walsh tied for 24th with an even-par 210, marking scores of 72, 68, and 70, while senior James Perry (71-72-69) tied for 30th with a 2-over 212.

Junior Seth Bearden (72-69-72) finished in a tie for 34th with a 3-over 213, and freshman Ryan Griff (70-73-72) tied for 44th with a 5-over 215.

The Mustangs logged two par-or-better team totals, going 282, 275, and 280 for a 3-under 837 to finish behind Oklahoma Christian (814/-26), Colorado Mesa (821/-19), and West Texas A&M (825/-5).

Colorado Mesa's Cole Beyer fired scores of 68 and 66 before rallying for a final round 63 to finish with a 13-under total of 197 to win by a single stroke over St. Mary's Kongpop Kaikaew (67-62-69/-12).

Midwestern State closes the fall competition season with The Hrnciar Invitational on October 21-22 at The Territory Golf Club in Duncan, Oklahoma.
