STOCKTON, Calif. – Midwestern State shot 6-over 294 in its final round of the NCAA Division II West/South Central Regional at The Reserve at Spanos Park on Saturday afternoon. The Mustangs finished the tournament at 20-over 884 and will not advance to the 2026 NCAA DII Men's Golf Championship at Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nevada on May 18.
Ryan Griff had three birdies over his final six holes and finished with four birdies on his way to an even-par 72 in the third round. Griff finished the tournament at 7-over 223.
Hank Germany was inserted as a substitute in the final round and shot 1-over 73 with two birdies for the Mustangs on the final day of the tournament.
Nathan Nelson shot 2-over 74 for the second straight day with a birdie on each side of the course. Nelson shot 11-over 227 over 54 holes at 7,082-yard layout on the links style course.
Seth Bearden finished the tournament at even-par after shooting 3-over 75 in the final round. Bearden had nine birdies over three rounds, including two on Saturday, but the senior from Crowell, Texas, also had his first two double-bogeys of the tournament. Bearden had a team-leading 38 pars over 54 holes.
Anniston McIlwain had 15 pars in his final round but carded a 7-over 79 to finish the tournament at 11-over. McIlwain had five birdies and an eagle during the tournament.
