DENTON, Texas --The Midwestern State women's basketball team got a 23-point performance from the bench, but fell 98-48 to the North Texas Eagles on the road Wednesday.
Zarria Carter led the Mustangs with seven points and two steals. Carisa Cortez tacked on five points and two steals off of the bench, and Kerbie Cash chipped in as well with six points and four steals.
Kyley Atkinson pulled down two offensive rebounds to pace an offense that racked up second chance opportunities for Midwestern State, grabbing 11 boards and turning them into four second chance points.
Midwestern State forced 26 North Texas turnovers. The Mustangs turned those takeaways into 18 points on the offensive end of the floor. Cash's four steals led the way for Midwestern State.
