NORMAN, Oklahoma -- Midwestern State set an outdoor school record in the 4x400-meter relay at Oklahoma's John Jacobs Invitational Saturday at the Jacobs Track Complex.

And senior Elizabeth Butzke ran the fastest 5,000-meter time since 2014 to lead a group of nine student-athletes setting personal records for the Mustangs in the final regular season meet of the season.

The solid performances made great preparation for the Lone Star Conference Championships set for May 5-7 at Lubbock Christian's Soccer and Track Facility.

Daiza Jones, Jadyn Dangerfield Moore, Da'shrana Sims, and Trell'Kyrah Watkins improved the previous 4x400-meter relay by over a half-second on the way to winning the race with a time of 3:51.49.

The time is the fifth fastest in the LSC and remains in the Top 50 in NCAA Division II and is shade off of the program record time of 3:50.96 set at the 2023 LSC Indoor Track & Field Championships.

Butzke raced to a second-place finish Friday night in the 5,000-meter run, improving her PR to 18:08.96 which is the fastest time for an MSU runner since Gabby Ruiz set the 5K program mark with a time of 17:45.22 in 2014.

Steveanna Hearn, Asia Robertson, Corinne Thorpe, and Jaylen Hogue combined to win the 4x100-meter relay with a time of 46.92 just off of the school record (46.76) set earlier this season at the David Noble Relays.

Robertson also turned in a strong performance in the 200-meter dash finishing runner-up by 0.001 seconds to Oklahoma's Jada Atkinson. Both sprinters recorded a time of 25.09. Hogue placed third with a time of 25.16.

Hogue also led MSU's contingent in the 100-meter dash by finishing seventh with a time of 12.09, while Robertson was ninth with a time of 12.14. Both times were wind-aided.

Kennedy Smith (12.46) and Kierra Hicks (12.50) used wind legal performance to jump to seventh and eighth on MSU's all-time 100-meter performance chart. This year's Mustangs own five of the Top 10 spots on the list.

Sims also placed eighth in the 400-meter dash with the fifth-fastest time in program history.

Dangerfield Moore led the Mustangs in the 1,500-meter run by placing 10th with a time of 4:58.70, while Sydney MacDonald (5:16.04) and Isabel Hernandez (5:25.47) ran personal best times.

Freshman Rylie Tipton moved into third on the all-time high jump chart, clearing 5-feet and 1/4 inches to place ninth. She also placed 19th in the long jump with a mark of 15 feet, 8 3/4 inches.

Senior Peyton Lewis finished third in the triple jump (36 feet, 3 1/2 inches) and 10th in the long jump (17 feet, 4 1/4 inches).
