DUNCAN, Okla. -- Midwestern State's Seth Bearden rode six to the top of the leaderboard Tuesday afternoon in The Hrnciar Invitational at The Territory Golf Club.

The sophomore from Crowell settled for a third-place finish after taking a double bogey on the final hole. The bad luck couldn't take away a tremendous outing for Bearden, who logged three consecutive par-or-better scores with a 72, 69, and 70 for a 5-under total of 211.

He finished just two strokes off the pace of individual medalists Rudy Sautron of Cameron (66-72-71) and Dallas Baptist's Brecken Franklin (72-69-70) who tied at the top of the leaderboard with 7-under totals of 209.

Bearden's performance helped the Mustangs tie for third on the team leaderboard with rounds of 290, 288, and 293 for a 7-over total of 871.

UT Tyler (283-271-308) claimed top honors with a 2-under total of 862, followed by Oklahoma Christian (863/-1), while MSU and Dallas Baptist tied for third.

Junior Gatlin Goad tied for 16th with three team countable efforts, posting scores of 73, 73, and 74 for a 4-over 220, while senior Keaton Dickens followed suit with a 76, 75, and 70 to tie for 18th with a 5-over total of 221.

Senior J.T. Boyd (69-81-79) tied for 42nd with a 13-over 229, while James Perry (81-71-80) tied for 55th with a 16-over 232.

Senior Kevin Yang led the "B" squad by tying for 24th with scores of 76, 72, and 75 for a 7-over 223, while Robert Garcia (75-73-81) tied for 42nd with a 13-over 229.

Hank Germany (75-75-82 232/T55), Ethan Dean (76-75-83 234/T62), and Trevor Walsh (83-78-88 249/T76) rounded out MSU's results.

The Mustangs close out the fall slate Monday and Tuesday with the DBU Classic at The Golf Club of Dallas.
