LAST MEETING | Randi Heaton scored for Midwestern State in the second minute, and Kelly Canistra scored early in the second half at Stang Park, but the Mustangs settled for a 2-2 draw against the Dustdevils. Vivian Martinez answered the Heaton goal in the 13th minute, and Irene Robles forced overtime when she scored for TAMIU a little more than an hour into the match. MSU outshot the Dustdevils, 27-14, and forced TAMIU goalkeeper Fabiana Solano to make 15 saves.
Lexi Beck assisted on the Cannistra goal in the 54th minute. Midwestern had nine corner kicks, including two in overtime, and TAMIU had three chances from the corner. The Dustdevils committed 18 fouls, and the Mustangs were called for eight fouls in the match.
Taylor Camp made six saves for the Mustangs, who are 6-0-1 when hosting TAMIU.
LAST TIME OUT |Â Oklahoma Christian's Mannon Ceresola took advantage of a turnover in Midwestern State's defensive third to deliver the only goal of the match Wednesday night at Stang Park. The Mustangs dropped their second straight match to fall to 4-5 and 1-3 in league play. Oklahoma Christian senior Natalie Davis stepped in on MSU goalkeeper Lexy Jackson as she attempted to advance the ball up the field for distribution in the eighth minute of the game.
