WICHITA FALLS, Texas – It will be another busy weekend for the No. 12 Midwestern State men's tennis program as the Mustangs travel to Midland for a pair of matches Friday against New Mexico Military Institute and Texas-Permian Basin before returning home Sunday to host Colorado Mesa.
Midwestern State hits the courts Friday at 9 a.m. in a neutral site contest against NMMI, the No. 7 team in the NJCAA, before taking on host UTPB at 2 p.m. at the Bush Tennis Center. The Mustangs conclude the weekend Sunday at 2 p.m. against CMU at the MSU Tennis Center.
LAST TIME OUT
– Midwestern State finished 1-1 last week, earning a 7-2 win over No. 13 Ouachita Baptist before falling 7-2 to NJCAA No. 3 Tyler Junior College at the MSU Tennis Center
– The Mustangs cruised in their home opener over the Tigers, taking two of three doubles matches before earning four of five wins in straight sets to record the 7-2 win
– Midwestern State was unable to keep its perfect season record intact Friday as the Mustangs were only able to come away with a singles and doubles win in the loss to the Apaches

LINN EARNS WIN NO. 400
– Head coach
Scott Linn received a memorable win No. 400 last May when the MSU women's tennis team upset No. 12 California (Pa.) in the NCAA Sweet 16
– Linn enters his sixth season leading the MSU men's and women's tennis programs, guiding the Mustangs to a combined seven postseason appearances since taking over the programs in 2010-11
– Linn has posted an 80-37 record (.684) with the men's team while recording an 86-41 mark (.677) with the women for a combined 166-78 (.680)
– Since 1997-98, Linn has compiled a 405-257 (.612) career record in 15 seasons as a men's head coach (222-147, .602) and 12 seasons as a women's coach (183-110, .625), averaging close to 15 wins a season
