WICHITA FALLS, Texas -- The Intercollegiate Tennis Association recognized Selin Sepken as the ITA Senior Player of the Year when it announced the 2026 ITA Division II Women's National Award recipients.

Sepken, who is from Istanbul, Turkey, and transferred to Midwestern State from Idaho, won 29 of her 32 matches across all competitions.

In the fall, Sepken won the South Central Regional without dropping a set in six matches and earned an automatic bid to the ITA Cup. Sepken was 2-1 in singles at the 2025 ITA Cup.

During the dual-match season, Sepken played No. 1 singles throughout the campaign and finished with a 19-2 record. Sepken closed the season with six consecutive victories and was 9-1 against Lone Star Conference opponents. She finished the season with a 6-2 record against nationally ranked opponents.

Midwestern State was the No. 2 seed but won the LSC Women's Tennis tournament for the sixth time in the history of the program.

Sepken was named the LSC Women's Singles Player of the Year and LSC Newcomer of the Year after leading the Mustangs to a 19-7 overall record and an 8-2 mark in conference play. She has been ranked in the ITA Top 10 all season long and is currently No. 8 in the nation among NCAA Division II singles players.

Sepken was also a sensational doubles player. She teamed with freshman Emilia Gyorgy for a 19-7 record this season. The duo won 10 consecutive matches from April 5 – May 8.

Midwestern State made its 13th consecutive appearance in the NCAA Division II Women's Tennis Championship and its 25th appearance overall.

Sepken is the first women's tennis player from Midwestern State to receive the ITA national award.
