WICHITA FALLS, Texas – Midwestern State is scheduled to play three dual matches this week, including two at MSU Tennis Center. Western New Mexico visits the Mustangs on Friday at 10 a.m. On Saturday, Midwestern State hosts Sul Ross State and then departs for San Antonio to face St. Mary's at 2 p.m. on Sunday, making up a dual that was rained out last week.
No. 24-ranked Midwestern State (10-6, 2-3) has suffered back-to-back 4-3 losses to No. 6-ranked UT Tyler and No. 31-ranked Cameron.

Germano Setti had a three-match winning streak snapped with a 4-6, 1-6 loss to No. 6-ranked Lukas Janousek of Cameron. Setti is 2-2 against nationally ranked opponents this season and is 3-2 in conference duals.

Matthew Earle are ranked No. 40 in doubles, and the duo had a 12-match winning streak snapped with a 3-6 loss Santiago Ledesma and Abubakari Yakubu-Lea of Cameron. Setti and Earle boast a 13-2 record at No. 2 doubles for the Mustangs.
Bruno Sanchez and
Juan David Duque won four consecutive matches and are ranked No. 11 in doubles, improving to 7-5 this spring with a 6-2 win over Janousek and Noe Milliard of Cameron. Sanchez and Duque are 4-1 against conference opponents.
Sanchez, ranked No. 48 in singles, won four of his last five matches at No. 2 singles, including a 6-3, 6-4 win over Milliard at Cameron. The junior from Spain is 4-1 against conference opponents and is 10-5 overall this season.
Duque is 9-6 in singles and won six of his last eight matches, scoring a 6-3, 6-4 win over Abubakari Yakubu-Lea of Cameron at No. 4 singles in his last outing. Duque is 2-4 at No. 3 singles this season.
Jose Marquez is 5-3 at both No. 3 and No. 4 singles for the Mustangs this season. The senior from Oaxaca, Mexico, lost his last two matches in three sets. No. 11-ranked Samuel Antwi of UT Tyler won a match at No. 4 singles, 6-2, 4-6, 6-3, and Ledesma scored a 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 win for Cameron at No. 3 singles. Marquez won seven of his last 10 matches for the Mustangs and all three losses in that span have been decided in three sets.
Marquez has paired with three different teammates at No. 3 doubles this spring and is 5-11 on the doubles court.
Tomas Leguizamon manned No. 5 singles against Cameron and had his three-match winning streak snapped with a 2-6, 3-6 loss to Martin Hlavacek. As a team, the Mustangs are 5-7 at No. 5 singles this season.
Cesar Loeches Llamas improved to 3-3 this spring with a 6-2, 6-3 victory over Lukas Holub of Cameron at No. 6 singles in the Mustangs' last dual. Loeches Llamas won three of his last four singles matches. MSU is 7-7 at No. 6 singles this season.
Midwestern State is 52-35 in singles matches this season and 28-19 in doubles. The Mustangs won the doubles point in nine of 16 dual matches this season.
WESTERN NEW MEXICO (6-9, 2-4)
Midwestern State won 12 of its previous 13 encounters with the Western Mustangs, and MSU has won the last 10 meetings, including a 6-1 victory in Silver City, New Mexico, last year. WNMU is 0-4 when visiting MSU Tennis Center.
Western New Mexico suffered a 7-0 to Lubbock Christian last week and has lost its last three dual matches. WNMU is 1-2 on the road this season with a 7-0 victory at Sul Ross State.
The Western Mustangs are 33-48 in singles matches and 20-21 in doubles matches.
SUL ROSS STATE (0-11, 0-7)
Midwestern State won its last seven meetings with the Lobos but last year's 7-0 victory was the first encounter with Sul Ross State since a 7-2 victory in 1995. Sul Ross is 1-4 when visiting MSU but lost its last three visits. The Lobos scored a 5-4 victory when visiting Midwestern State in 1990 after losing its first visit eight years earlier, 9-0.
Sul Ross State is visiting Cameron and Southeastern Oklahoma State before arriving at MSU Tennis Center on Saturday.
The Lobos have not secured a point in a dual match this season.
ST. MARY'S (13-4, 3-2)
Midwestern State has dominated the all-time series with the Rattlers, posting a 23-1 record, and the Mustangs have a five-match winning streak in the series after defeating St. Mary's 6-1 at MSU Tennis Center last season. MSU is 4-0 when visiting St. Mary's, including a 5-2 victory in 2024. The Rattlers only win in the series was a 4-1 victory in the NCAA Division II South Central Region semifinals five years ago.
The Rattlers are on the road for two matches before hosting the Mustangs. St. Mary's visits No. 6-ranked UT Tyler on Friday afternoon and faces UT Dallas on Saturday morning.
The Mustangs and Rattlers started a dual match at Rohrbach Stadium Tennis Complex on April 19 but only managed to complete a few games of doubles before rain halted the proceedings. The two teams will start anew when they reconvene in San Antonio on Sunday.
St. Mary's has claimed the doubles point in nine duals and snapped a three-match losing streak in doubles by taking the point against UTPB on April 10. The Rattlers are 14-3 at No. 3 doubles with a 7-10 mark at No. 1 doubles and an 8-9 record at No. 2 doubles. Thirteen different players have played doubles for St. Mary's this season.
