WICHITA FALLS, Texas – Midwestern State Women's Basketball welcomes #12 Lubbock Christian to D.L. Ligon Coliseum on Thursday evening for its first home game of 2026, with first tip set for 5:30 p.m.
Midwestern State (4-7, 1-4) began 2026 in San Antonio and Austin, dropping both games of the road trip, falling to (RV) St. Mary's, 72-54, and St. Edward's, 80-52.
The Mustangs return to Wichita Falls for the first time since their last home game on Dec. 5 against UT Permian Basin, falling 45-68. MSU look to halt a four-game Lone Star Conference losing skid, dating back to the game against UTPB.
Midwestern State is forcing 22.7 turnovers per game (2
nd best in the LSC), including 13.5 steals per game and boasts a plus-7.0 turnover margin.Â
Four Mustangs are in the top-20 in the LSC for steals per game, with

The Mustangs are one of the top rebounding team in the Lone Star Conference, pulling down 40.5 rebounds per game (2
nd in LSC), while leading the conference in offensive rebounding (16.9). M. Upshaw and Cash are in the top-10 in LSC for rebounding, with 7.1 rpg and 6.9 rpg, respectively.
Cash leads the Mustangs with 14.7 ppg, while Glynn contributes 9.4 ppg.
Carisa Cortez finds 7.0 ppg for the Mustangs, scoring 64.1 ppg as a team, while allowing 61.0 ppg.
Midwestern State leads the all-time series against Lubbock Christian, 23-15, but has struggled in recent meetings with the Lady Chaps. Lubbock Christian has won the last 11 meetings between the two programs, as LCU came away with last season's meeting at D.L. Ligon Coliseum, 63-55.
Lubbock Christian (13-2, 5-1) is at the top of the DII Women's Basketball scene, garnering a #12 ranking in the latest Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Poll. The Lady Chaps began the season with an 11 game winning streak. Recently, Lubbock Christian dropped their first conference game of the season, falling 66-64 against St. Mary's in San Antonio.
The Lady Chaps and St. Mary's were tied with three minutes remaining in the game, but St. Mary's grinded down the Chaps in the final stages, coming up with a few key defensive stops.
Kennedy Chappell and Meg Meekins lead the Chaps scoring, with the team scoring 68.4 ppg (4
th in LSC). Chappell finds 16.5 ppg on 54.1% shooting from the field, while contributing a team high 4.3 apg, and 1.9 spg. Meekins, a true freshman from Nocona, Texas, is the top three-point shooter in the LSC, scoring 14.7 ppg on 43.0% shooting from deep. The guard averages 2.3 made three-pointers per contest, while leading the Chaps in rebounding (5.1 rpg).
Martie McCoy, Tia Johnson, and Raegan Lee have started every game alongside Chappell and Meekins. McCoy is a key figure for LCU, playing 32.1 minutes per game with 9.3 ppg, and 4.8 rpg.
Lubbock Christian are one of the top teams in the conference in several statistical categories. The Lady Chaps lead the Lone Star Conference in three-point shooting, shooting 38.1% on 7.9 made three's per game.
