STEPHENVILLE, Texas -- Midwestern State enjoyed stellar showings at the Texas Invitational and Joe Gillespie Invitational on Friday and Saturday.

The Mustangs set three school records, put 16 marks on all-time performance lists, and recorded 25 personal bests.

Junior Trell'Kyrah Watkins reclaimed the school record in the 400-meter hurdles Saturday at Tarleton State's Oscra Frazier Memorial Track by finishing third with an NCAA Division II provisional qualifying time of 1:01.68.

Watkins improved the school record by nearly a half-second over Nidhi Singh's previous mark of 1:02.13 set last season.

Watkins also teamed with Corinne Thorpe, Karissa Nixon, and Hailee Janzen to lower the program's 4x100-meter relay record by 1.14 seconds, finishing second with a time of 46.55.

Sophomore Shalisa Williams raced to a wind legal time of 15.27 to improve on her own school record in the 100-meter hurdles.

Meanwhile, freshman Maggie Neal (2:12.01), sophomore Jessie Heath (2:13.41), and junior Jadyn Dangerfield (2:13.66) finished ninth, 10th, and 12th, respectively, in the 800-meter run Friday night in the Texas Invitational at Michael A. Myers Stadium in Austin.

The times were the second, third, and fourth fastest in program history, while this season's squad owns the top four spots which also includes senior Nidhi Singh's school record time of 2:07.77 set earlier in the year at the Texas Relays.

Freshman Christasia Jones (24.54) and Nixon (24.69) paced the second and third fastest times in program history in the 200-meter dash to place sixth and 11th at the Gillespie Invitational.

Senior Daiza Jones added the sixth-best time to finish 14th in the event.

Sophomore Jaycee Lyons claimed a win in the 1,500-meter run, improving the fourth-best time in program history with a personal best 4:42.48, while freshman Grace Pineda took second with a 4:47.66, the seventh-best time in MSU annals.

The Lone Star Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships is the next meet on Midwestern State's online schedule. It is set for May 1-3 at Greyhound Stadium in Portales, New Mexico.
