WICHITA FALLS, Texas --Midwestern State pounded out 21 hits — including four home runs — over the course of a doubleheader, and the Mustangs swept UT Permian Basin, 13-4 and 8-5 to close out the home portion of their 2025 schedule.
Midwestern State swept the four-game season series with the Falcons and enters its final road trip of the season with a four-game winning streak.
The Mustangs improve to 19-30 overall with a 16-24 record in the Lone Star Conference. MSU finishes the season with a home record of 14-12.
Angelo State hosts the Mustangs at Mayer Field on Friday for a doubleheader that begins at 5 p.m.
GAME 1 | Midwestern State 13, Texas-Permian Basin 4
HOW IT HAPPENED
Camile Nunez broke the game open with a bases-clearing triple in the second inning and scored on a throwing error as Midwestern State took a 6-1 lead in the second inning.Â
Madison Stewart homered to left field to lead off the third inning, and by the end of the frame, the Mustangs led by eight runs, 9-1.
UTPB scored three runs in the fourth inning, but the Mustangs responded. Myranda Jimenez had the big hit in the inning with a two-run single that scored Jessika Roberts and Stewart.
Starting pitcher Kayleigh Bowers improved to 6-6 with five effective innings in the circle for the Mustangs.

Sydney Linn was 4-for-4 with a home run. Camile Nunez and Madison Stewart also homered as the Mustangs overcame a 5-0 deficit in the first inning.
Stewart finished 2-for-3 with two RBIs in the victory.
Addison Lindemann pitched six innings and allowed just two hits with six strikeouts. Lindemann only issued one walk and improved to 8-15 on the season.
Lindemann drove Linn home with an RBI double in a three-run third inning for the Mustangs.
Megan Ayala doubled in the fifth inning and scored on Stewart's base hit to cap the scoring.
