WICHITA FALLS, Texas -- Midwestern State's
Kerbie Cash garnered Lone Star Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors as released by league officials on Monday.
The freshman from Wylie, Texas, averaged 25.5 points and eight rebounds to help the Mustangs to a Lone Star Conference split last week.
The 6-2 guard poured in a career-high 29 points on 7-of-26 shooting while going 14-of-17 from the charity stripe in a 70-69 loss to Eastern New Mexico on Thursday, completing her eighth double-double of the season with 11 rebounds.
Cash then scored 22 points on 10-of-18 shooting with five rebounds in MSU's 69-67 win over West Texas A&M on Saturday.
Cash has averaged 22 points a contest over her last four games to raise her season scoring average to 13.3 points per game.
Midwestern State hits the road to face Sul Ross State Thursday night at Gallego Center in Alpine. Tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m.
