LITCHFIELD PARK, Arizona --Â Midwestern State's
Seth Bearden recorded an even par in the final round of The Patriot All-American Golf Tournament held from December 29-31 at the Wigwam Golf Course.
The senior for Midwestern State rounded out the tournament with even 70, while shooting a 75 and 73 in the first two rounds, to finish 8-over par (218). The field of 84 competitors across all NCAA levels battled over the three day tournament, with Arizona State's Connor Williams winning the individual crown with a 14-under par 196.
The Patriot All-America Invitational features PING All Americans from all NCAA divisions and is played at the Wigwam Resort in Goodyear, Arizona. Over the years, the tournament featured players like Justin Thomas, Bryson DeChambeau, and Daniel Berger.
The Crowell, Texas native sunk three birdies during the final round, overcoming a birdie-less first round, and just one birdie in the second round. Only 12 of the 84 competitors had a tournament the finished under par, as Bearden finished third among NCAA DII golfers.
Bearden was one of only 14 non-NCAA Division I student-athletes in the field which included on other out of NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA athletes.
A PING First Team All-American in 2025, Bearden recorded a pair of top-five finishes during the Mustangs fall segment of the season. He captured victory at the National Preview in Las Vegas, Nev. (Oct. 6-7), shooting 13-under par over 54 holes. Bearden is currently 24th in the Clippd Division II rankings and sports an adjusted scoring average of 70.2.
Midwestern State look to defend its Lone Star Conference Tournament Title in the Spring of 2026, hosting the Midwestern State Invitational in March, and beginning the Spring calendar with the Rattler's Invitational in San Antonio (Feb. 16-17).
