WICHITA FALLS, Texas — Midwestern State (3-3, 1-0) rallied in the second half to secure a 77-70 victory over Angelo State (8-2, 0-1 ) on Wednesday night at D.L. Ligon Coliseum. The Mustangs capitalized with 25 fast-break points and 39 points from the bench.
The first half began with both teams exchanging early turnovers before a pair of free throws by Jordan Crawford put Angelo State on the board. Midwestern State equalized with a layup from
DaCannon Wesley, assisted by
Charles McClennahan, Jr., at 18:56. By the 10:25 mark, Quadir Pettaway's back-to-back three-pointers helped Angelo State build a lead, extending it to 22-16. The Mustangs'
Jonathan Jackson closed the half with a fast-break layup, cutting the deficit to 43-35 as the teams headed into the break.

Terrance Ramirez was pivotal, contributing multiple 3-pointers, including a key shot at the 12:54 mark, pushing the home team's lead. Angelo State kept the game competitive with Jaqai Murray's inside scoring, but MSU maintained control by capitalizing on turnovers and fast breaks.
Tehshaundre Cole's layup with 1:19 remaining helped solidify the win as Angelo State attempted a late comeback.
