PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – Midwestern State is seventh in a field of 12 schools competing in the NCAA National Preview at PGA National. The Mustangs are 51-over par through the first 36 holes of the 54-hole event, trailing first place Dallas Baptist by 24 strokes.
Mary Kerr shot 3-over 75 in the second round, finishing with one birdie in each round and leads the Mustangs at 12-over 156 in a tie for 22nd place.
Alli Reily had five birdies through two rounds and is tied for 27th place at 13-over 157.
Kodi Nolen, who was even-par through her first four holes in the morning round, finished the day tied for 33rd at 14-over 158. Nolen carded two birdies and was 3-over 75 in the second round.
Madison Wert was 5-over 77 in the first round, carding 14 pars over her first 18 holes, but finished the day tied for 39th at 16-over 160.
Emme Darnold navigated the front nine at PGA National just 1-over in the first round, and she was 3-over on the front nine in the second round. Darnold shot 9-over 81 in both rounds and is tied for 47th place with 18 holes to play on Tuesday.
Romane Lacoste and Kaetie Samuels are both competing as individuals this week.
Lacoste shot 8-over 80 in both rounds with one birdie over 36 holes on Monday.
Samuels had the highlight of the day at PGA National when she fired a hole-in-one at the par-3, 160-yard, No. 7 hole in her second round. Samuels also birdied the par-4, 340-yard, No. 14 hole during the second round. She finished the day win an eagle and three birdies through 36 holes and is tied for 58th place at 23-over 167.
Karina Duran of UT Tyler is atop the player leaderboard at 3-over 147, leading Ella Cheek of DBU by two strokes. DBU has four players among the top-eight scores.
UT Tyler, which trails DBU by 10 strokes at 37-over par, is in second place and has three players among the five scores.
St. Mary's is third on the team leaderboard at 38-over par.
