ODESSA, Texas -- Midwestern State faces UT Permian Basin on the second leg of its road trip after suffering an 84-61 loss at Angelo State as Zarria Carter was limited to 20 minutes due to foul trouble. Tipoff at UTPB Gym Complex is scheduled for 1 p.m.
Midwestern State is 6-10 overall this season with a 4-6 conference record, but the Mustangs are 0-8 on the road this season.
Zarria Carter was named the Lone Star Conference Offensive Player of the Week after leading the Mustangs to convincing wins over Western New Mexico and Sul Ross State. The 6-1 senior from Mansfield, Texas, averaged 31.5 points and 15 rebounds in the two victories, connecting on 24-of-29 shots from the field (82.8 percent) and 15-of-18 free throws. Â
Carter recorded her 11th double-double of the season with 20 points and 10 rebounds at Angelo State despite being called for her fourth foul early in the third quarter. Carter leads the nation in double-doubles among NCAA Division II players.
Carter leads the LSC in scoring and rebounding. She averages 20.3 points and 11.6 rebounds per game for the Mustangs. Carter is the 10th-leading scorer in NCAA Division II and the fifth-leading rebounder.
Carter also has the best field goal percentage in the LSC, hitting 54.2 percent of her shots. She is 130-of-239 from the field, leading the conference in field goals and attempts.
Kerbie Cash is the second-leading scorer for Midwestern State with 11.8 points per game, and she is also the second-leading rebounder with 6.9 boards per contest. The freshman from Wylie, Texas, is averaging 13.9 points against LSC opponents while grabbing 8.1 rebounds in conference games.
Cash recorded her sixth double-double of the season with 11 points and 12 rebounds against Angelo State, and she is second in the conference in double-doubles.
Carter and Cash are both among the LSC top-10 in free-throws made and attempted. Carter is 65 of 94 (69.1 percent), and Cash is 56 of 78 (71.8 percent). Carter has the second most attempts from the foul line, and Cash has the third-most tries in the LSC.
The Mustangs are third in the league with 42.3 rebounds per game, which is 27th in the nation, and they are grabbing 15.6 offensive rebounds per game, which is second in the conference and 21st among NCAA Division II programs. Â
Carrisa Cortez is leading MSU with 3.1 assists per game, and the Stang Gang is scoring 61.4 points per game.

The Falcons are the second-highest scoring team in the league with 70.1 points per game, and UTPB is holding opponents to 60.9 points per game.
Taysha Rushton, a 5-5 fifth-year senior guard from Midland, Texas, is the third-leading scorer in the LSC with 16.3 points per game.
Khiara Flugence, a 6-0 junior forward from San Antonio, is the leading rebounder for the Falcons, pulling down 7.8 rebounds per game. UTPB is sixth in the conference with 37.4 rebounds per game with a rebounding margin of plus-2.3.
Avalon Munoz and Rushton are both top five in the LSC in assists. Munoz is dishing out 3.9 assists per game, which is third-most in the league, and Rushton is fifth in the LSC with 3.2 assists per game.    Â
