WICHITA FALLS, Texas -- Midwestern State earned All-Academic Team status for the ninth time in program history and a matched another high-water mark with eight student-athletes earning Scholar Athlete status as released Monday by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.
As a team, the women's tennis program boasted a team grade-point average of greater than 3.20 with each varsity letter winner factoring into the cumulative GPA for the current academic year.

Skylar Minns were joined by juniors
Anda Ghinga,
Jessica Binzari,
Kanaha Furutani,
Micaela McSpadden,
Sydney Williams, and
Hannah Yip.
To earn ITA Scholar Athlete honors, each student-athlete must have a GPA of at least 3.50 for the current academic year and be listed on the institutional eligibility form.
Midwestern State also obtained ITA Academic Team status in 2004, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2019, 2020, 2022, and 2023.
Ghinga is a four-time honoree, while Binzari, Furutani, Minns, Williams, and Yip were all named ITA Scholar Athletics for the third straight year, with Binzari earning honors the previous two seasons at Coker College.
McSpadden earned ITA academic honors for the second consecutive year, while Chakraborty gained her first career award.
Midwestern State rolled to a 22-5 record and reached the NCAA Division II semifinals for the first time in program history last season. The Mustangs also swept through Lone Star Conference play on the way to claiming their fifth league title.
