RICHARDSON, Texas – Midwestern State won its third consecutive dual and has only conceded one dual-match point during the streak after defeating UT Dallas, 7-0, at UTD Tennis Complex on Friday afternoon.

No. 28-ranked Midwestern State improved its record to 12-5 overall, and the Mustangs are 4-1 in conference play. UT Dallas is 6-8 overall with a 3-2 conference record.

Jasmine Crain and Camila Garcia set the tone with a 6-3 victory over Presley Churchman and Sheryl Gerald at No. 1 doubles. The duo improved to 2-0 at No. 1 doubles and is 16-1 this season with a 4-1 record against conference opponents.

Hattie Berend and Alessia Dolce remain undefeated at No. 3 doubles after defeating Reika Nagai and Elsha Valluru, 6-4, to secure the doubles point. Berend and Dolce are 9-0 since taking over No. 3 doubles on Feb. 28.

Midwestern State won the doubles point for the 15th time in 17 dual matches this season.

The No. 11-ranked pairing of Emilia Gyorgy and Selin Sepken were tested but improved to 11-6 with a 7-5 victory over Namrata Makhija and Katia Robinson.

Sepken and Garcia both extended their winning streaks in singles to eight matches.

Garcia is 14-1 at No. 3 singles after cruising past Churchman, 6-2, 6-0. The sophomore from Colombia won 16 of her last 17 sets. During her winning streak, Garcia won five sets at love, and she lost two games or fewer in 11 sets during that span.

Berend kept her winning form at No. 6 singles and clinched the dual-match victory for the Mustangs with a 6-2, 6-0 pasting of Kendall Curley. The junior from Wichita Falls won three of her last four sets at love and has a three-match winning streak. Berend improved to 6-5 for the season.

Crain also extended her winning streak to three matches with a 7-5, 6-2 triumph over Namrata Makhija. It was the third consecutive win in straight sets for the freshman from Edmond, Oklahoma. She is 6-3 at No. 5 singles and 8-8 overall this spring.

Dolce held a 6-1, 5-3 lead at No. 4 singles when Gerald retired before the conclusion of the second set. Dolce has a three-match winning streak, and she is 6-3 at the No. 4 position with a 9-6 record overall this spring.
