Midwestern State set for LSC Outdoor Track & Field Championships

SAN ANGELO, Texas -- Midwestern State competes in the Lone Star Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at LeGrande Stadium.

Twenty-one Mustangs are set to compete in 15 events in the eighth outdoor meet of the season.

Last Meet Highlights

>>> Junior Daiza Jones took a part in setting three school records at Texas Tech's Corky/Crofoot Shootout. She finished 11th in the 400-meter dash with a time of 55.14, a provisional qualifying time which ranks 45th in NCAA Division II this season. Jones also ran a leg in standard-setting times of 46.69 in the 4x100-meter relay and 3:46.47 in the 4x400-meter relay.

>>> Sophomore Trell'Kyrah Watkins raced to a program record and provisional qualifying time of 1:02.25 in the 400-meter hurdles. Her time ranks 56th in NCAA Division II this season.

>>> Freshman Jaycee Lyons led a strong effort in the 1,500-meter run by finishing fourth with a time of 4:47.25, just ahead of Nathalia Escontrias (4:49.97/7th) and Jadyn Dangerfield (4:51.83/9th).
