SAN ANGELO, Texas -- Midwestern State didn't let a little West Texas wind defray a slew of quality performance Saturday afternoon in the David Noble Relays at LeGrande Stadium.

Junior Nidhi Singh claimed a school record as one of eight personal records set by the Mustangs, while three sprinters claimed a spot in the finals.

Singh, a junior from Thane, India, recorded a time of 1:02.13 to claim a spot in the finals of the 400-meter hurdles, before taking third overall with a 1:02.86.

The NCAA Division II provisional qualifying mark would have stood 20th on the national the performance chart heading into the week.

MSU's 4x100-meter relay team of Corinne Thorpe, Kennedy Smith, Daiza Jones, and Steveanna Hearn took fifth with a time of 47.18. It was the fifth fastest time in program history.

Sophomore Mariana Sanchez turned in a dazzling debut in the 3,000-meter steeplechase to finish second with a time of 11:44.34. The mark ranked eighth on MSU's all-time performance chart and was the best time for a Mustang in the event since Nicole Coetzer ran an 11:41.04 in 2018.

Junior Corinne Thorpe placed third in the 100-meter finals with a wind-aided time of 11.76, while junior Daiza Jones raced to a fifth-place showing in the 200-meter finals with a 25.04, also wind-aided.

Freshman Jaycee Lyons finished fourth in the invitation only section of the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:54.11 which was the best mark for an MSU runner this season.

Junior Nathalia Escontrias placed fourth in the invitational section of the 800-meter run with a time of 2:19.03.

Midwestern State competes in the John Jacobs Invitational Friday and Saturday at OU's Jacobs Track & Field Complex in Norman.
