WICHITA FALLS, Texas --  Midwestern State recognized the contributions of its four seniors and solidified the No. 2 seed for the upcoming Lone Star Conference Tournament with a 5-2 win over Arkansas-Fort Smith at MSU Tennis Center on Saturday afternoon.

Emilija Visic were the four seniors receiving post-match accolades after the Mustangs took care of business. Midwestern State now leads the all-time series with UAFS, 14-0, including six victories at MSU Tennis Center.
MSU easily won the doubles point with a pair of 6-1 victories at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles. Lawson and 
Sydney Williams dismissed Joanna Potet and Arianna DeBernarado. DiMatteo and Visic routed Petra Csizmadia and Isabella Sorrano.

Micaela McSpadden won in a walkover.
Williams and Lawson are 8-2 in the conference, while Di Matteo and Visic have won both of their matches as a doubles tandem for head coach 
Scott Linn and the Mustangs.
Visic won her final regular season match in resounding fashion, defeating Isabella Sorrano at No. 4 singles, 6-0, 6-0. Visic is 9-1 at home this year and has won her last two matches to improve her overall singles record to 12-9.
Csizmadia spoiled Senior Day for Di Matteo with a 6-4, 6-3 victory, but the Italian enters the conference tournament with four wins in her last six singles matches. Di Matteo is 3-2 at No. 2 singles.
Lawson won a three-set match for the fourth time in five outings, defeating Joanna Potet at No. 1 singles, 7-5. 3-6, 6-2. Lawson is 13-9 and has played exclusively at No. 1 singles for the Mustangs. Lawson is 14-6 in doubles this season.
Micaela McSpadden improved to 6-3 against conference rivals with a 6-2, 7-5 victory over Sofia Tominga at No. 5 singles.
Arkansas-Fort Smith did not have a player for No. 6 singles, so the Mustangs won that match by forfeit.
Arianna DeBernardo earned the second point for the Lions with a 6-3, 0-6, 6-3 win over 
Hannah Yip at No. 3 singles, but UAFS suffered its 17th consecutive defeat and fell to 1-18 overall with an 0-10 record in conference play.
Midwestern State finishes up the regular season with a 17-6 record overall and 8-2 in the LSC.
The Mustangs finish as the No. 2 seed and face No. 7-seed Lubbock Christian in the quarterfinals of the conference tournament at Arlington Tennis Center on Thursday at 3:30 p.m.
Top-seeded Cameron meets Texas A&M-Kingsville, while third-seeded St. Mary's tangles with Dallas Baptist in the quarterfinals. Angelo State, the No. 4-seed, squares off with No. 5-seed UT Tyler.
Midwestern faces either St. Mary's or Dallas Baptist in the semifinals at 1 p.m. on Friday with a victory on Thursday.
The final is slated for Saturday at 1 p.m.
