WICHITA FALLS, Texas – Midwestern State men's tennis team is ranked No. 28 in the ITA Collegiate Rankings released this week. The Mustangs (9-7) are one of three Lone Star Conference schools ranked among the top-40 teams in the nation.

UT Tyler is ranked No. 8 in the nation, and Cameron is ranked No. 13.

Midwestern State traveled to Lubbock Christian and won four three-set matches en route to a win over the Chaparrals on Tuesday.

Midwestern State is 2-3 against teams ranked in the top-40 this season. The Mustangs have defeated No. 31-ranked Metropolitan State, 4-3, and No. 19-ranked Southwest Baptist, 7-0. No. 9-ranked Ouachita Baptist, No. 12 Northwest Missouri State and 29th-ranked Azusa Pacific have posted wins over MSU this season.

The doubles team of Marcal Miret Avante and Germano Setti is ranked No. 16 in the nation. Miret and Setti have played No. 1 doubles for the Mustangs in 15 duals this season and have posted a 7-7 record overall, including wins over Metropolitan State, Northwest Missouri State and Southwest Baptist.

The Mustangs host a pair of conference foes this week. Western New Mexico visits MSU Tennis Center on Friday, and UT Permian Basin visits Midwestern State on Saturday. First serve for both dual-matches is slated for 10 a.m.
