TYLER, Texas – No. 19-ranked Midwestern State faced the junior college team ranked No. 1 in men's tennis on Wednesday afternoon at JoAnn Medlock Murphy Tennis Center, and Tyler Junior College emerged victorious, 5-2.
Tyler JC improved to 3-1 against Lone Star Conference opponents this year. The Apaches defeated UT Tyler, 4-3, and edged Cameron, 4-3, in February. Lubbock Christian prevailed in its encounter with Tyler JC, 4-0, and the Mustangs open conference play against the Chaparrals at MSU Tennis Center on April 3.
Tyler Junior College improved to 10-4 this season and improved to 6-2 at home this season.
Midwestern State saw a four-dual winning streak come to an end and fell to 8-4 this season with a 1-3 record in away duals.
