LA MIRANDA, Calif. -- No. 25-ranked
 Midwestern State (9-3) completed its Spring Break trip to California with its third victory in four duals, defeating Biola (4-5) on Friday afternoon at the Biola Tennis Center, 4-0.
Hannah Yip clinched the win for the Mustangs by defeating Brooke Fager in the No. 2 position, 6-4, 6-1. Yip returned to No. 2 singles after defeating Sanne Brull of Fresno Pacific in the No. 3 spot on Thursday. Yip is 5-6 overall in singles with a 4-6 record at the No. 2 position.
Emilija Visic returned to the winner's circle with a routine 6-2, 6-0 triumph over Alex Mann at No. 4 singles. Visic improved to 7-4 in singles this season. The junior lost her two previous outings on the road trip, which snapped a four-match winning streak in singles.
Two minutes after Visic claimed victory, Colbeyshae Emery of Biola retired from her match with
Amelia Lawson at No. 1 singles. Lawson wrapped up the California road trip with a 2-2 record following the 6-4, 3-0 victory. Lawson improved to 7-6 for the season and has played the No. 1 position in all 13 duals for the Mustangs.
Midwestern State took a 1-0 lead in the dual by claiming the doubles point for the third consecutive day.
Visic and
Skylar Minns were undefeated on the road trip in doubles after posting a 6-1 victory in a mere 20 minutes over Amelia Kitts and Alex Mann at the No. 3 position.
In the No. 2 doubles match, Lilly McNeill and Gaby Carvajal of Biola edgedÂ
Alice Di Matteo and
Kanaha Furutani in a tiebreak, 7-3. A minute later, the No. 1 pairing of
Amelia Lawson and
Sydney Williams, ranked No. 33 in the nation, secured the point by narrowly defeating Emery and Fager in a tiebreak, 7-5.
Midwestern State returns home to tangle with Missouri Western on Wednesday at 3 p.m. The Mustangs are 5-0 at MSU Tennis Center this season.
