SAN ANTONIO -- Midwestern State rallied to within three strokes of second-place late in the final round of the St. Mary's Rattler Invitational Tuesday afternoon at The Dominion Country Club.
But the Mustangs settled for a fifth-place showing despite firing the second lowest score of the final round with a 14-over 302.
"We came really close to making an incredible comeback," MSU coach

MSU combined for eight birdies from Hole No. 3 through Hole No. 7 to get within striking distance of second place with three holes to play, but the Mustangs couldn't get any closer.
