Beck garners D2CCA All-South Central Region second-team honors

WICHITA FALLS, Texas -- Junior forward Lexi Beck was selected to the 2023 D2CCA Women's Soccer All-South Central Region Team on Tuesday.

Beck led Midwestern State with 22 points this season, scoring seven goals and assisting on eight others as the Mustangs finished the season with a 10-5-5 record and went 6-3-3 in the Lone Star Conference. She was named to the D2CCA Women's Soccer All-South Central Region second team for the second time in her career. 

The Fort Worth, Texas, native scored goals in five of the first seven games, including the only goal in a 1-1 draw at Central Oklahoma for her first goal of the year.

Beck scored from the penalty spot in the 87th minute to secure the Mustangs' first win of the season at Western Colorado, 2-1.

The game-winner at Western Colorado began a four-match streak with a goal for Beck. She scored another penalty kick in a 2-1 victory over Oklahoma Baptist.

Beck had a goal and an assist in a 3-0 triumph at Southwestern Oklahoma, and another converted PK propelled MSU to a 1-0 over Texas Woman's at Stang Park.

In a 5-0 romp over Eastern New Mexico at Stang Park, Beck had two goals and an assist for the Mustangs.

In the first round of the LSC Tournament at Pioneer Soccer Park in Denton, Texas, Beck delivered the service on two corner kicks that were headed in by Allessandra Romano, and the Mustangs advanced with a 2-1 victory. The game-winning goal was scored in the waning seconds of overtime.

Beck appeared in all 20 matches and made 19 starts for the Mustangs.

She was also named to the All-Lone Star Conference first team for the second time in her career.

Beck has 14 goals and 17 assists in her three seasons at Midwestern State.
