Jackson nets career high in loss to West Texas A&M

WICHITA FALLS, Texas -- Midwestern State's Eternity Jackson scored a career-high 15 points in an 87-78 loss to West Texas A&M Saturday afternoon at D.L. Ligono Coliseum.

HOW IT HAPPENED >>>

West Texas A&M freshman Hollie Stalder scored a career-high 21 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead a group of four Lady Buffs in double figures.

WT took control in the first half, utilizing an extended 17-2 run to extend its advantage to 41-25 on a pair of Azia Himeur free throws with 2:04 to play in the first half. 

The Lady Buffs led by as many as 21 points in the second half, but Midwestern State held the edge in both quarters in the second taking the third quarter, 24-21, and 23-20 in the fourth.

West Texas A&M shot 54 percent from the field and connected on eight 3-pointers.

Stalder was joined in double figures by Karley Motschenbacher (18), Lauren Taylor (13), and Nyalam Thabach (11).

- Midwestern State senior Eternity Jackson scored a career-high 15 points on 5-of-8 shooting with a 3-pointer to lead the Mustangs. It was her third double-digit effort of the season.
- MSU freshman Dyamon Griggs logged her fifth double-double of the season with 11 points and 10 rebounds despite despite being limited to 21 minutes. She had one foul.
- MSU junior Natalie Stice added 10 points off of the bench for the Mustangs, while senior forward Mandy Withey had nine points, six rebounds, and two blocked shots.
- West Texas A&M freshman Hollie Stalder poured in a career-high 21 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead the Lady Buffs.
- WT sophomore Karley Motschenbacher scored 18 points on 8-of-11 shooting with a 3-pointer.

GAME NOTES >>>

- Midwestern State fell to 5-16 on the season while moving to 3-12 in Lone Star Conference play. the Mustangs are 4-8 at D.L. Ligon Coliseum this season.
- West Texas A&M snapped a three-game losing streak tom improve to 16-6 on the season and 9-5 in league play. The Lady Buffs are 4-6 in true road games this season.
- West Texas A&M shot a season-best 54 percent from the floor (34-of-63).
